Welcome to Sector101 - Home of the SYEMB06 ReBirth Project!

The SYEMB06 ReBirth Project came about through a thread on the YamahaForums website about making a batch of SYEMB06 Non-Volatile Memory clones.
After much information gathering and several prototypes a batch of SYEMB06 clone modules have been assembled and tested.
This module takes the place of the long discontinued and now very rare Yamaha SYEMB06 512KB non-volatile module. The Yamaha synths that can use this sample memory upgrade module are the SY85, TG500 and RM50.
MODULE PRICE DROP!
The retail price of our SYEMB06 module is now £33!
Please see the Purchase page for details on how to buy these memory expansion modules for your SY85 / TG500 / RM50 right here from this website.
These modules are designed, assembled and shipped from the United Kingdom.
28rd June '08: SYEMB06 modules are currently in stock!
THIS MODULE IS COMPATIBLE WITH THESE SYNTHS:
Yamaha SY85
You can install up to two of these modules to give you 1MB of non-volatile sample memory on top of whatever volatile memory you currently have installed. After you load your samples into the SY85's non-volatile memory area they will remain stored intact after the SY85 has been switched off. When you switch the SY85 back on again your samples are ready to go! All the sample and waveform parameters will also be stored so there is nothing you need to setup again after powering the SY85 up!
Yamaha TG500
Unlike the SY85 the TG500 ships with no onboard sample memory at all. You can install up to two of these modules to give you 1MB of non-volatile sample memory to play with. The TG500 can now receive and store your samples through Midi Sample Dump. As with the SY85 all the sample and waveform parameters will be stored so there is nothing you need to setup again after powering up!
Yamaha RM50
As with the TG500 the RM50 ships with no onboard sample memory. You can install one of these modules to give you 512KB of non-volatile memory to play with. Of course your samples will remain onboard when the unit is switched off and are ready to go when powered up again! Sending of samples to the unit is through Midi Sample Dump.
To send your samples over MIDI check out C6 by Elektron on the Links page!
